This division teaches 9 and 10 year boys the beginning fundamentals of softball with practices and games with formed teams. Teams are formed by a skills assessment process to create a balance among the teams. There is one umpire. This division starts the player pitching to the player. To keep form continual walks after so many pitches the coach can step in and pitch several pitches to the batter. Score is not kept.3 outs determines team change on the field. You can expect 2 practices a week. Games are generally 2 games a week with a possible 1 practice. Games are played during the week and on Saturdays in Livingston. Child receives a team jersey, Cap or Visor and a medal. Season runs from the end of March through First week of June. The City Recreation Baseball Program is primarily devoted to the enjoyment and development of basetball players without the emphasis on travel or high-level competition.
